 An ensemble performance consisting of skits, sermons, musical performance and dance that tell the story of the Black influence on English language.  The play reveals everyday words and phrases that originated in the Black community as well as Black contributions to the world of English literature.

 

Performance History

 The play was commissioned by the Nova Scotia Library Association and performed at the organization’s 1994 annual conference.
