Written and directed by David Woods
A musical and dramatic celebration of Black History Month. This ensemble performance is anchored by adapted versions of the choreo-drama ‘Black Journey’ and the dramatic speech ‘I Have A Dream Nova Scotia’, and also includes performances of folk and gospel songs, a popular Black dance medley, storytelling and poetry. The production is easily adaptable and often local performers and the local history (of visited communities) are incorporated in the presentation. Features Voices Singers and Voices Dancers.
Performance history: This production was developed for a Nova Scotia school tour in 1990 and later became one of Voices most popular shows. A special performance of this show adapted for national audiences and featuring the speech ‘I Have A Dream Canada’ was presented at Black History Month gala events in Calgary, Ottawa and Toronto.
