Voices Black Theatre Ensemble presents stories of African Nova Scotian culture, history and experience on stage. The company was formed in 1990 and has been the training ground for young stage performers from across the province for over 3 decades. Voices plays have been presented in community and school tours across Nova Scotia as well as on CBC Radio, in film, on Parliament Hill, Canadian Museum of History, Gatineau and Rebecca Cohn Auditorium, Halifax. Noted Voices productions include Black Journey; Black Reality Song and the award-winning drama on Africville Once: Africville Stories.
