Clara Gough
Clara Gough practices on the traditional basket weaving taught to by her mother Edith Clayton, a renowned African Nova Scotian basketmaker. In 1998 she began experimenting with creating ‘basket sculptures’ and has produced two works in this new genre. She is the last African Nova Scotian selling baskets at the Halifax Market which has been a tradition since the late 18th century.
